The wonderful complex by Vignola hosts the Municipal Museum, the Art Gallery, the Carriage Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Risorgimento Museum. Municipal Museum: it preserves glass and majolica collections, 14th-15th century frescoes coming from several churches; 13th and 14th century precious sculptures; about 400 items of an antique arms collection, a cycle of paintings about Alessandro Farnese (by G. E. Draghi) and about Pope Paolo 3rd Farnese (S. Ricci), the etruscan divinatory Liver (2nd century B.C.) Art Gallery: located in the palace first floor, it's the ideal location for ' Fasti Farnesiani', paintings celebrating the dinasty by Ilario Spolverini.The most remarkable piece is Botticelli's tondo 'Madonna adoring the Child with San Giovannino' (1483-87) Risorgimento Museum: the pieces exhibited regard mainly two fundamental periods of Italian history: 1848-49 and 1859-61, with particolar reference to Mazzini and Garibaldi. Such pieces range from publications, to arms, documents, uniforms and various kinds of objects. Junot General Decree (1806), among them, is very remarkable :it tells about Napoleon's repression against those people enrolled in the French army. Carriage Museum: over 50 models of historic carriages are located in the Palace beautiful subterraneans. Known all over Europe due to the rarity of many pieces, the collection keeps expanding.Among the most prized pieces are two luxury gala berlins dating back to the 18th century. Archaeological museum: it exhibits the oldest witness left by man in Piacenza's territory , from the inferior Palaeolithic to the recent Neolithic
